This week…

Really into:

  • A new link bracelet to add to the arm party (this one is definitely welcome!)
  • Signs of Spring with these hot pink Valentino pumps (studded, of course)
  • The carrot avocado panzanella salad from Ava Street (I will definitely be recreating this)
  • The care we received from Lurie Children’s.  Top notch.
  • Robert Demeglio
  • YSL’s le teint touche eclat - a great illuminating foundation.  I prefer a little more coverage (especially in the winter), so I mix this with my normal foundation (Hello Flawless!) for an overall glow
  • A new scent circulating throughout our house - the Feu de Bois from Diptyque. Has a campfire-like smell, which is perfect for these dreary January days. In other good news, it is proof that my husband listens as he procured it from the new store on Damen (thanks, Mr. B).

Not so into:

  • This flu outbreak.  I am washing hands and disinfecting things like mad.  Little B loves touching the elevator buttons EVERYWHERE we go.  Now I have to try to explain to him that we can’t touch them because we are most certainly NOT returning to the hospital anytime soon.

Meet my “networking” shoes…

Comfortable (I know, very deceiving), gorgeous and good conversation starters. I wore them to a non-profit event that I co-hosted last night and they definitely helped me make my way around the room. I actually spoke to a few other women on the board that have shoes for similar situations - statement shoes that are easy on the feet, but also can break the ice. I say if they help you meet a new client, friend, or simple acquaintance, the purchase is worth it!
