Well…it’s official.  I am raising a picky eater.  A picky toddler?  You don’t say?  I know this is normal behavior as Little B is gaining his independence and realizing that he can make decisions about what he wants to eat, but as an adventurous eater myself, I’m so disappointed!  He ate EVERYTHING I gave him just a few short months ago, but has now retreated to a diet of cereal, yogurt, turkey bacon and watermelon.  While this isn’t horrible (and certainly could be worse), I don’t think he’s getting the proper nutrition for his little growing body.  One idea I recently uncovered was smoothies.  I put bananas, raspberries, blueberries, almond milk and ice in a blender and ta da!  A pint size antioxidant punch! So far, so good…
Moms, what other “tricks” do you use to get your toddlers to eat?  Are there fun recipes I should try?

gastrogirl:

mini strawberry pie pop.

This reminds me of childhood. My brother and I were those kids who could eat pop tarts, sugary cereals and ice cream (to balance the veggies and fruits we also consumed). The funny thing is that we are now super healthy and eat very well. I guess you can’t be too strict on your kids’ diets, huh?
