This past weekend, Mr. B and I attended the wedding of one of my oldest friends.  The setting was Tybee Island, Georgia, a few minutes from Savannah.  The backdrop was sand, dunes and a front seat ocean view.  With her ginger hair pinned up neatly and porcelain skin sun-kissed and glowing, she married a great guy and threw a fantastic party!

The reception was enchanting.  Lights that wrapped the trunks and branches of giant magnolia trees illuminated the beach courtyard.  Acoustic guitars played favorites from Coldplay, Tom Petty and Elton John.  Savory shrimp and grits and rich vanilla wedding cake fueled the guests’ dancing and lively conversations.  My neon yellow dress was also quite the conversation piece…

A late-night post reception visit to a local bar followed and was probably not the best idea for this mom that hasn’t been out past midnight in quite some time, but what the bride wants, the bride gets! It didn’t make for a fun morning, but a veggie omelet and a few Excedrin gave me just enough energy to rush home and squeeze Little B!
