Northside baby…
Last night, we took Little B to his first Cubs game! It was a gorgeous summer evening, albeit slightly cool, and perfect for a visit to Wrigley Field. He took in the crowd of people (many of whom were Detroit fans), the cheering, the ballpark smells of popcorn and hot dogs and the notorious sounds of the organ. He obviously had no idea what he was watching, but we explained the basic premise of the game and he enjoyed giving high fives to some of the other fans sitting in the suite.
His favorite part of the game, by far, was the seventh inning stretch! Blues Traveler sang and played their patented harmonica. Mr. B is a big Blues Traveler fan, so perhaps it sounded familiar? My favorite part of the evening was looking over at my boys and watching this father/son moment. First ball game…the first of many!
[For the record, the Cubs actually won! I think Little B is a good luck charm…]
